A health products company, Sunrider International, was founded by Dr. Tei-Fu Chen in 1982. Dr. Chen is a world-renowned herbalist and has a degree in pharmacy. His wife, Dr. Oi-Lin Chen, is a licensed medical doctor in the U.S. With its corporate headquarters in Torrance, California, Sunrider operates worldwide in 42 countries.

Growing up in Taiwan after WWII Dr. Tei-Fu Chen learned from his grandfather, who was an herbal doctor, the importance of herbs. Tei-Fu Chen was a sickly child, he developed the desire to study nutrition and herbs from his own experiences. He used ancient Chinese herbal formulas and martial arts to overcome his childhood illnesses. Dr. Chen through his experiences and studies created the Philosophy of Regeneration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tei-Fu Chen met his wife Oi-Lin Chen, a Hong Kong native, when they attended Kaoshiung Medical College in Taiwan. Oi-Lin earned a medical degree there, while Tei Fu studied traditional Chinese healing and herbalism and earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy at Kaoshiung.

 

Today Tei-Fu Chen serves as Chairman of the Board of Sunrider while Oi-Lin Chen serves as President and CEO.
